Your day begins with a private pickup from your accommodation and a transfer to your waiting private helicopter at Christchurch Airport, lifting off for a scenic coastal flight towards Kaikōura.
As you track along the rugged shoreline, the helicopter descends over the Hikurangi Marine Reserve, where you’ll have up to a 95% chance of viewing sperm whales, migrating humpbacks, dolphins, and other marine life from the air. This aerial vantage point provides unmatched visibility and ensures the best opportunity for wildlife viewing.
After the marine encounter, the helicopter continues to Black Estate Winery, landing for lunch where a two-course meal is prepared for you using fresh regional produce. Wines are paired to complement the menu, and time is given to relax, enjoy the setting, and take in the surrounding landscape.
Following lunch, your helicopter lifts off again for the return scenic journey. The route carries you over the Waipara wine region and across the wide, open Canterbury Plains, showcasing a striking contrast of vineyards and farmland before returning you to your departure point.
